About Us

A small, independent family business

We are a small family business operating in the South West of England, since 1998. We're proud to be independent and not a part of any national franchise. We love what we do, and we love to see the massively positive effect that dancing can have on the lives of others.

Our philosophy has always been to emphasise the element of fun when learning to dance. We're supported by a large number of amazingly friendly and helpful crew members. If you have any questions, please get in touch and we'll do our best to respond quickly.

Partner

Russell Payne began partner dancing in 1996, and soon qualified in London as a Ceroc instructor. He reached the finals of a national modern jive dance competition in London in 1999. Shortly afterwards he continued teaching under the Mojive banner at Bournemouth Pavilion for some years, and more recently qualified as a Leroc instructor, gaining UKA accreditation. Russell also teaches occasional dance classes in lindy hop, charleston, collegiate shag, blues, jango and northern soul.

Julie Payne began dancing in 1998, and these days is busy behind the scenes at Leroc HQ, and comes out to dance when time allows!

Is Leroc a franchise?

No, Leroc is not a franchising operation, unlike another organization that sounds similar! Leroc is a freely useable generic term to describe modern jive dancing.

Leroc clubs (like us) are proud to be independent!
